I'ts start from her's voyage
I have to go back to 2012 to talk about her. The first day we met, when I was an acute introvert. Because my college life wasn't fun. I forget what date it was, but it was when I often escaped to the studio where I learned traditional music from my teacher.
Ganjar was my friend who introduced me to her. At that time there were also Wina and Eki Yassin Fadhillah. They were all members of Wanakumbara, a community based in Garut, and they were going camping on Mount Galunggung at the time. We met and had coffee together at Oscar Mayer, a snack place that Ganjar and I often went to when we were free. With just one meeting, I already saw that Desi, who is familiarly called Dudus, is a person with high curiousity. For a woman, her 'journey' was more than I had ever done.
Dudus had a pharmacy education and worked in a pharmacy (at that time). Because of that, I always consulted to her about medicine. Not just about generic drugs, even about suggestions for tranquilizers when I started to get the thing called depression. But Dudus never gave it to me, rather he advised me to go for something better and more tolerable.
Actually, I didn't have many trips or meetings with her, because I was based in Tasik and traveled a lot. Until finally I was 'persuaded' by Ganjar to move in to join the Wanakumbara community. From here, many things changed for me. I got to communicate with many people. Wanakumbara contains a variety of people, all of whom are intelligent and have different backgrounds. Of all the things here, one thing that was beyond my expectations was that I was easily accepted by them, even without introducing myself. How this is something I rarely find nowadays. And of the many of them, one of the ones I got close to was Dudus.
Wonder leader woman
Wanakumbara has a time of changing leaders and regeneration. Before Bayu Erlangga's leadership period, Dudus had become the leader of all of us in 2019-2020. Dudus, whose class name is Satkaratalaga, had a very good leadership period. Especially for me as an annoying member. Dudus knew I was a solitary person, didn't like crowds and didn't really like the atmosphere of communication in online media. So she understands that I rarely communicate in the online group. He would often call me directly if he had a need for me.
Wanakumbara's eighth cadre, aside from my devotion to the community, I probably attended because of Dudus request. I didn't help much in this community. For that reason, I took the time to pay in installments all of my many bad debts. The people here have helped me a lot. Dudus was very elegant during this activity. She wasn't good at getting angry or putting on a scary persona as a leader. But she managed to amaze us all with all his behavior during the cadre activities. The most epic moment for me was during the dissolution of the activity, she spoke to all of us during the ceremony under the rain. Dudus, is a leader I am proud of.
A high acceptance, her's favor
Wanakumbara's birthday. I was asked to do a semi-theatrical performance at this event. I communicated a lot with her at that time too, as we were facing some of the same problems.
Bringing the performing arts here also made me hesitate. I sometimes felt like I was changing the vision of this community. But Dudus convinced me of this. "A Eki, please be useful with what you can.", that's what Dudus said to me. That exactly what my teacher said longtime ago. From that I decided to do it, with performing arts entitled 'Darpa Esa Di Kamanunggalan', different but one in unity. Rian Mahendra was the chief organizer at that time. I felt relieved and happy that people could accept what I was showing them. I am very grateful to Linda Kania, Cici, Firmansjah for helping me. Also to A Oki who made me an amazing stage set. A few days later Eki Yassin and Dudus came to Suryashvara and stayed at my hut.
A same eyes to see
Dudus knows I love writing. From whatsapp statuses or facebook and instagram posts. And Dudus is also a writer. So we also often chat with this... She published her's book titled Metamorfosa, a collection of his short stories whose source of inspiration came from his travels with Wanakumbara. She transformed her realist experiences into a narrative-fiction style. Apart from being a friend who knows about some of her travels, I love reading her writings.
Eki Yassin got Dudus firs published book at Wanakumbara Anniversary as a gift. Everyone o us want to get hers book. Look at Eki Yassin expression, i can see joy on him.
Devotion for the Nation
In 2022, Dudus became the chosen one to serve in Papua. I actually didn't know what the mission of this assignment was. From what she told me, following her posts on social media, she did so many things. She had the courage to travel to the eastern tip of Indonesia.
I was happy to hear that. Because I'm sure she will have great experiences that she will write about later. And it was during this time that Dudus and I probably didn't communicate much. I got back to work, and did a lot of music tours. We were separated with our own activities...
Last meeting
April, 17. I didn't expect that this year's iftar together with wanakumbara would be my last meeting with Dudus. After almost two years of not seeing each other I met him. Dudus looked different when i got hers hands up. She was recovering from a long illness. And it's a shame that I didn't know that.
I filled the activity as usual with songs as entertainment with Hilman Varmatine and Ganjar. Dudus and I ended up chatting again... He told me he wanted to learn English, he wanted to go on another trip that required those skills... I gave him suggestions of good language learning places and tips to make it easier to learn about English. The event went well but too many people came so we only had a little time to greet each other.

April-May was a very busy time for me. Work was suddenly a lot. I didn't even know Dudus was back in the hospital because she was sick. I scrolled through the group chat history, Wanakumbara friends took turns accompanying Dudus at the hospital. I was going to make her a music video to encourage her... But I was too late. I'm always late. Dudus' condition fluctuated, stabilized, then dropped again.
Thursday, May 18, just when I was done with the frenetic celebrations at my workplace. At 11:10 pm, Dudus left us all, passed away at Slamet Hospital, Garut. My sadness was overwhelming.

Once, as my heart remembersAll the stars were fallen embersOnce, when night seemed foreverI was with you
Once, in the care of morningIn the air was all belongin'Once, when that day was dawningI was with you
How far we are from morningHow far we areAnd the stars shining through the darknessFalling in the air
Once, as the night was leavingInto us, our dreams were weavingOnce, all dreams were worth keepingI was with you
Once, when our hearts were singingI was with you
